The International Udaleku project was born after some American relatives visited us and we saw how interested they are in our culture and how proud they felt from their roots. This made me think that it would be great to have the opportunity to show and teach others about our culture and the idea of a basque summer camp began to take shape… and we are now really excited to prepare our first edition.

This summer camp pretends to provide participants with an exciting program that features choices of things to do, see and experience while discovering the Basque culture. If you want to learn about the Basque culture and you want to spend the summer of your life, you are the right candidate!

We are located in Ispaster, a very small village 5 km from Lekeitio. All activities will take place in the surroundings and you will also have the opportunity to visit our main cities, enjoy and participate in the summer festivals that take place in the area, learn how to cook delicious traditional dishes, local dances, songs, sports and of course, also some adventure such as a trecking, stand up paddle, canoeing and surfing. And... what if all these activities are performed with local people of your same age? This will bring the opportunity to know the local kuadrillas and what is like to belong to one.

Speaking Basque or Spanish is desirable and for sure this experience will help improving them, but it is NOT a must, trilingual (Basque, Spanish, English) camp staff will help those with language problems .
